The most important things in life aren't things. The truth is we already have all the things we need for our home.
Our wedding was a destination wedding at the peak of a very tall mountain in Western North Carolina. All of our guests had to travel to be with us and the last thing we wanted was for them to load themselves down with additional packages.
From the very beginning, we decided to plan our wedding digitally. No physical invitations were sent. We created a private Facebook event and invited all of the individuals that we wished to attend. Those not on Facebook were contacted via e-mail or telephone. It was cost effective, simple to manage, and also easy on the environment. We also created a wedding website to keep our guests informed of all the activities we had planned for the week.
Keeping with the digital theme, we wanted to provide our guests with a simple method to share their generosity. It was wonderful to be able to define the real things we needed and then break them up into more affordable chunks. For example, we needed a new bed along with a fence for our dog, Jock. It was an authentic way to ask for money without begging for it.
In the end, we were very surprised at how many of our guests used SimpleRegistry. As the name implies, the process was simple as can be.
